Chris Ely Founder at Chris Ely Household Consulting and Staff Training is a professional butler and estate manager with proficiencies of the highest standards. Throughout his incomparable thirty-year career in service to some of the world’s most discerning families, Mr. Ely has cultivated the professionalism, discretion, and precision essential to performing a wide range of specialized functions. Service for his first employer, Queen Elizabeth II, included work at many of the state and private residences of the British Royal family, as well as on the Royal Yacht HMY Britannia, where he was responsible for the domestic care of a wide range of family members, dignitaries, and guests. Mr. Ely’s first-hand perspective into the complexities of running a high-performance household led him to continue his career as the leader and organizing force behind the households of a diplomat, an Arab Sheik, and luminaries of the entertainment industry. His last full-time service position was that of butler to Mrs. Brooke Astor. Mr. Ely has since provided his organizational services in optimizing the staffs of high-net-worth households in the United States and Europe.
David founded British Society Staffing in order to bring a heightened level of caring and understanding to the matching process and personal attention to the residential placement field.
As Manager in the Greenwich, CT and New York City offices of one of the largest and most well respected Domestic Staffing Agencies for 10 years, David developed a unique expertise in matching clients with candidates. His approach to the matching process was so thorough and personalized, he achieved a 75% success rate for placements lasting three years or longer.
Previously, David was a Manager with Onward Healthcare placing registered nurses. He also served in ministry to high school and middle school kids as an Area Director for Young Life in Greenwich, CT.
David is a graduate of The Hill School and Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and also attended Fuller Theological Seminary. He lives in Greenwich with his wife Beth, their three children and dog, Ruby.
